Senne Lammens

Good
Produced a confident diving save to keep out Summerville's effort and was generally assured throughout. Souček's goal squeezed through his legs, but that owed more to the quality of the delivery than any real fault on his part. A slight scare when Amad's early backpass invited Castellanos to close him down, but overall one of United's better performers on a frustrating night.

Diogo Dalot

Average
His 300th career appearance turned out to be a forgettable one. Picked up a booking for a rash challenge on Summerville and never looked comfortable going forward or defensively. A clear step down from the level he's been operating at in recent weeks. Made way for Zirkzee on 82 minutes as Carrick threw caution to the wind.

Harry Maguire

Dominant in the air and won the majority of first balls, but was caught in possession by both Bowen and Summerville on a couple of occasions. Withdrawn on 68 minutes for Yoro after appearing to feel a twinge — one to monitor ahead of the weekend.

Lisandro Martínez

Showed his quality early on with a delightful chipped ball to pick out Fernandes in space. However, he'll be disappointed he didn't do more to cut out the pass in the build-up to Souček's opener. Solid enough otherwise, but that lapse proved costly.

Luke Shaw

Got forward well and forced a save with a first-half shot, but his positioning for West Ham's opener was poor. Let the ball bounce when he needed to be decisive, allowed Bowen to run at him, and was beaten far too easily. The biggest individual error of the night. Worked well with Cunha down the left, but the defensive lapse overshadowed his attacking contributions.

Kobbie Mainoo

His trademark quick feet and neat forward runs were there in flashes, but the team's sluggishness dragged him down. Was a bit sloppy in the moments before Souček's goal and couldn't impose himself on the game. Comfortably his least effective outing since Carrick took charge.

Casemiro
7
Good
United's best player on the night, marking his 150th appearance for the club with a battling display. Thought he'd equalised on 63 minutes when he bundled the ball home from close range, only for VAR to chalk it off for a marginal offside. Drove the team forward when others couldn't and was the one consistently trying to make things happen.

Amad

Peripheral for large stretches of the first half and didn't impose himself nearly enough against a deep-sitting defence. Got a shot away and played a part in the build-up to Šeško's late equaliser, but needed to be far more involved. Tried his luck from range late on, but Hermansen gathered comfortably.
8
Bruno Fernandes
6
Average
Lobbed an early chance over the crossbar when he might have done better. West Ham's deep block denied him the pockets of space he thrives in, and he was well short of his usual creative influence. Delivered the cross for Zirkzee's late header, but it was a frustrating evening where the team simply couldn't break through.
19
Bryan Mbeumo
6
Average
Deployed on the left and found it difficult to make a meaningful impact as United's attack lacked invention. Headed just wide from a Shaw cross in the second half and delivered the crucial cross for Šeško's equaliser. Two shots on target against a side in the relegation zone tells you everything about the lack of cutting edge.
10
Matheus Cunha
6
Average
Operating centrally, he was noticeably quieter than in recent outings. Kept dropping deep to try and link up with Fernandes, but the connection just wasn't there. West Ham's compact shape gave him very little room to work with. Replaced by Šeško on 68 minutes as Carrick looked for more punch up front.

Leny Yoro

Good
Came on for Maguire and produced an outstanding defensive cameo. Made two vital last-ditch interventions in stoppage time to deny West Ham on the counter, putting the ball behind for corners on both occasions. Needs to show this level of composure and aggression more consistently, but it was exactly what United needed when it mattered most.

Benjamin Šeško

Good
Came on for Cunha and rescued a point with a superb stoppage-time finish, poking home at the near post after Mbeumo's cross. Also forced a save from Hermansen with a driven effort from outside the area. That's now five goals in six matches under Carrick — the super-sub tag is becoming a trademark, and the case for starting him grows louder by the week.

Joshua Zirkzee

Good
Replaced Dalot as Carrick went all-out for the equaliser. Injected energy with a few sharp passes and went agonisingly close with a header that drifted just past the far post — United's best chance of the night up to that point. A positive impact off the bench in limited time.
